The Top 3 Benefits of Becoming A Real Estate Investor
June 10, 2015
Becoming a real estate investor is an exciting career choice. There are many benefits that you find as a real estate investor that you can’t find working a boring nine to five job. So what exactly is a real estate investor? In this article I’ll be discussing the benefits of becoming a real estate investor. There are many things that qualify an individual as a real estate investor. I’ll be discussing the benefits of professionals who perform the buying and selling of property and benefit solely off of the investment.
When you hear “real estate investor” you typically think of wholesalers, flippers, and landlords. The following are benefits that these professionals enjoy that you can’t find in many other professions.
Financial Freedom
One of the biggest benefits that comes from being a real estate investor is financial freedom. While being a real estate investor isn’t a get quick rich job, it does allow you the opportunity to achieve financial freedom faster than working a regular job. Jobs in the retail, service, and labor industries pay good over time, but it could be decades before you are able to retire. A career as a real estate investor can provide you with the ability to build a business from the ground up and retire at a much earlier age.
Becoming a real estate investor not only provides financial comfort for you and yours, but it allows you the ability to create passive income. If you are a real estate investor who owns rental properties, you can set a goal as to how much passive income you want to make and retire once you start receiving that amount each month. You don’t have to worry about hitting a ceiling as a real estate investor either. The more good work you do, whether it is flipping houses or obtaining rentals, the more money you can make. You can’t get that with a conventional job!
More time to do what you want
As a real estate investor you have the ability to make your own schedule. Working at a conventional job, there are specific hours to have to meet and keep each and every week. With constrictions like that, it is hard to find time to do anything that you WANT to do. You get to dictate your own hours as a real estate investor. Now, while you’ll find yourself working plenty in the beginning, as you progress in your career and build your team you will find yourself with more and more time on your hands. Time that you can spend with your loved ones or taking part in hobbies that interest you!
Early retirement, as stated earlier, is a definite possibility as a real estate investor. This means if you are a successful real estate investor you can spend more of your life doing what you want, when you want instead of spending the majority of your life in the rat race.
Being in control/less stress
Many occupations leave your wellbeing in the hands of your employers. You are tasked with a specific job that you have to complete. Sometimes the job changes, but most of the time it stays the same. Variety in the work place is part of what keeps a job tolerable. As a real estate investor, you have control over your job, your team, and your time. A greater amount of control in your career can produce variety every day. You can spend a day networking, a day checking on houses being rehabbed, or a day doing market research. You dictate your tasks for the day.
A greater amount of control will leave you less stressed. While you can’t account for unexpected things that will come up, as a real estate investor you can ensure that you are prepared. By having control over your time and a great team you have the ability to manage any problem that might pop up. That is another comfort you can’t normally take advantage of at a normal job. These are just three of the benefits that being a real estate investor provides. There are many more detailed benefits but these three are huge reasons why more and more people each year decide to get out of the rat race and make the choice to become a real estate investor.
